In May and September 2008 volunteers from local churches, PTSA members, neighborhood associations, and service showed up in the rain to weed and cleanup school grounds. It was hard work made easier by many hands. 10 truck loads of weeds were removed, bark was spread, flowers were planted. Dandelions were outnumbered.

May 16th 2009 Over 1,000 volunteers form local churches, PTSA members and neighborhood associations and others showed up at the local public schools to do weeding and cleaning. the impact was dramatic and well appreciated by all of the students, teachers and parents. Most importantly the community working together began to build new relationships with each other and the schools. Students and teachers coming in the next morning felt valued by their community.
