Thank you for supporting our community!

We want to share with you the amazing job this community is doing in supporting the students in Shoreline School District in making sure families have basic food needs met.

Embrace Shoreline Schools is working directly with Family Advocates to provide grocery gift cards to families in need. We have many community partnerships to make this happen but most importantly, it is the individual donors that make this happen.

Over $7,000 donated in the first week. These funds are processed through Kinder Konnection, a local 501c3 that helps to support the basic needs of students in 10 school districts in Washington State. They purchase gift cards for Fred Meyer, Safeway, and Albertsons in denominations of $25 and $50. The gift cards are then given to the advocates that disperse to the families in need.

Currently, there are about 150 families that are receiving these gift cards. Our goal is to be able to provide each of these families with a $50 grocery gift card a week. We anticipate this number of families will grow as more families are impacted with job loss from coronavirus.

Shoreline PTA Council is helping to spread the word and has several resources on their website if you are looking for help or to lend a hand.

Thank you for your support, we will keep you updated weekly. Thank you Shoreline PTA Council, Family Advocates, and Kinder Konnection for your collaboration.

Ways to Support Shoreline Students

These are crazy times, if you would like to help our community of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park.
Here are some ways:

1.) We have partnered with Shoreline PTA Council and our fiscal agent KinderKonnection to accept monetary donations that will directly support students in need. These funds will be used to purchase gift cards (Safeway/Fred Meyer) that will then be distributed to families in need through each school’s Family Advocate. Use the donate link on the right and include a note that it is for Shoreline Schools. This will ensure that your donation is directed to this particular project versus KinderKonnection’s general fund, which supports 10 area school districts.

2.) If you already have gift cards in hand- or would prefer to give gift cards directly to the Shoreline PTA Council.
